Exclusive! Director shares about Chithra's favorite nighty she wore when she died

The film and television industry is still to come to terms with the untimely death of actress VJ Chithra on December 9th by hanging herself in a hotel room near Chennai. Her post mortem report concluded that it was suicide but her husband Hemnath was arrested on December 15th for abetting her death.

Chithra had dreams of making it big as a film actress and made her debut in a movie titled 'Calls' directed by Sabarish which she completed before her passing away. In an exclusive interview to us the debutante director has shared an emotional story behind the nighty that Chithra was wearing on that fateful morning.

According to Sabarish Chithra gave full cooperation while filming 'Calls' and was very very friendly to the cast and crew members including senior actors Nizhalgal Ravi, R. Sundarajan, Devadarshini and Meera Krishnan.

The pink nighty that Chithra was wearing when she tragically took her own life was a costume in 'Calls'. Chithra liked the dress so much that she requested the team to give it to her and Sabarish became emotional that she had to wear it as her final dress.
