A crane crash tragedy at the Hindustan Shipyard in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, killed 10 workers on Saturday. Rescue teams and ambulances were immediately rushed to the spot as soon as the officials and maintenance workers at the site alerted relevant authorities.

As per local media reports, a couple of workers have remained trapped under the debris at the time of writing the report. Efforts are on to rescue them. Authorities have put nearby hospitals on alert so that they can take in injured patients.

The giant crane involved in the accident was a new one. Reports say that load testing was being done at the time of the accident. At the time of the tragedy, not more than 12 were working.

The industrial disaster comes months after the styrene gas leak tragedy in Vizag.
