Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan has said that he is deeply disturbed by the Vizag Gas Leak tragedy. "I started getting information about the leak and its repercussions right from 5 AM or so. Initially, I couldn't gauge the extent of the problem. After its gravity became clear, it caused a lot of anxiety in me," the 'Vakeel Saab' actor said.
"Several Jana Sainiks shot videos of the aftermath of the leak. I received the videos through my party's General Secretary. I have come to know that my party's cadres have been involved in relief activities. I appreciate their support to the system," the Jana Sena Party chief said.
Pawan Kalyan demanded that the Pollution Control Board and the state government have to take strong steps to curb industrial accidents. "We have witnessed such incidents in the past," he added.
He demanded monetary compensation to bereaved families. The Jaganmohan Reddy government has announced ex-gratia of Rs 1 Cr to the families of deceased victims. Those on ventilator support will be given Rs 10 lakh.
