Famous comedian Mayilsamy known for his helping tendency passed away suddenly on February 19th. Thousands from the public joined celebrities such as Rajinikanth, Karthi, Vijay Sethupathi, Nasser, Radha Ravi among others in paying last respects to him at his residence and the 57 year old was laid to rest on the 20th.
It is well known that the late comedy legend Vivek and Mayilsamy were very close friends and their combo on screen has produced several hilarious scenes especially in 'Dhool', 'Paalayathu Amman' and 'Uyarntha Manithan'. Meanwhile a throwback video of Vivek showering praises on Mayilsamy's kind heart and social service has gone viral again.
Vivek had stated in this video: "Even though he is older than me, I address him in a very casual manner. If director Bharathiraja was told about his character, he would have immediately wanted to make a biopic on Mailaswamy. For he has such good qualities in him. One will be surprised to know that there is such a good human being as him that too this era? Even though his earnings were comparitely low if he got some money in hand, he would give it to everyone. He lives a rich man one day and will be a pauper the very next day."
Vivek added "When Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi helped in rebuilding a Tamil village after a natural disaster, Mayilsamy wanted to laud him and so he rushed to Cuddalore and without even introducing himself he presented a gold chain with MGR's dollar. Mayilsamy is a devotee of MGR but still parted with his priced possession to honor Vivek Oberoi's good deed. Mayilsamy can be compared to the great poet and freedom fighter Subramaniam Bharathiyar for when Mylaswamy's wife tells him that there is no money at home, he will go out struggle to find a job and earn some money. But after getting that money, on his way home he would help the needy and exhaust his earnings and then ask friends for help.
