Makkal Needhi Maiam President and Actor Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan had recently said during his campaigning in Aravakurichi that the first terrorist of Independent India was a Hindu and he was none other than Nadhuram Godse who shot dead Mahathma Gandhi. This comment of Kamal Haasan has received criticism from all corners.
Now, actor Vivek Oberoi, who is known for his Bollywood hits and starred in Tamil as the villain in Thala Ajith's Vivegam has questioned Kamal on his controversial statement. The actor has tweeted that Kamal is a great artist and just like art has no religion, terror too does not have religion, and that he could have called Godse a terrorist instead of specifying him as a Hindu.
Vivek Oberoi further questioned if Kamal had specified Hindu terrorist just because he was campaigning in a Muslim dominated area for votes. In another tweet, the actor posted as a request from a smaller artist to a great one, to not divide the country and that we are one. Vivek Oberoi's next release is the Modi biopic PM Narendra Modi.
Dear Kamal sir, you are a great artist. Just like art has no religion, terror has no religion either! You can say Ghodse was a terrorist, why would you specify ‘Hindu’ ? Is it because you were in a Muslim dominated area looking for votes? @ikamalhaasan https://t.co/Hu3zxJjYNb
