Vivek Oberoi's career took a big hit after his famous fight with Bollywood star Salman Khan was widely reported. Brut India recently posted a video of Vivek addressing the India Global Forum in London, where he spoke on his experiences with being shunned in the film business Vivek related how powerful Bollywood stars worked to undermine his career.
"I was enjoying a lot of success, winning awards, and suddenly it all vanished," Vivek remarked without calling names. 'You are not going to work here anymore, we will make sure of that,' a group of strong Bollywood personalities declared. I had a great deal of wrath, pain, and frustration and had no idea how to deal."
He also said, "My mother, my hero, told me to concentrate on being a hero to someone else. 'If you help others, you will feel like a hero and a winner,' she remarked. This guidance enabled me to go from a victim's perspective to one of purposeful aiding others."
Vivek called a press conference back in 2003 claiming Salman Khan was threatening him over his romance with Aishwarya Rai, who had lately split from Salman. Later in 2007, Aishwarya wed Abhishek Bachchan; their daughter is Aaradhya. Vivek wed Priyanka Alva, and together they have two children.
Vivek revealed in a 2023 Hindustan Times interview the industry's intimidation and lobbying he encountered. Looking back, he said, "I handled lobbies and negative articles and went through a lot of needless obstacles. Particularly after giving a great performance in "Shootout at Lokhandwala" and then not having employment for fourteen months, it was taxing and demoralizing. I wanted to accomplish something significant and empowering outside of performance during that period.
