Vivek Agnihotri has been vocally against the Hindi film industry's mainstream and dominant players since 2015 or so. In his latest tweet, the director 'The Kashmir Files' shared his frank and forthright opinion on what should be done by Bollywood to avert further fall from grace.
"Honest opinion: If Bollywood stars want to resurrect (themselves), they must begin with stopping 3 things immediately: 1. Paid trendings 2. Airport/gym/dog-walking looks 2. Drinking Koffee (sic)," the director of 'Tashkent Files' tweeted.
The last of these is a cryptic dig at celebs attending the 'Koffee With Karan' show, whose seventh season has been streamed on OTT.
Paid trendings have come in for criticism not only from Vivek but also several other Bollywoodians. Media personalities and controversial voices like KRK, too, have railed against the same. "The mighty Roman Empire fell because of the elite’s debauchery. Bollywood’s Empire is falling due to its elite’s debauchery. It’s time for genuine artists to take a stand and help build a new film industry based on fairness, talent and respect for the audience and their culture," he wrote today.
Meanwhile, Vivek is going to make another film under the production of Abhishek Agarwal. The duo will be making films that contribute to the Indic Renaissance.
