It appears that there is a cold war of sorts going on between filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Vivek Agnihotri. While Anurag has insinuated his dislike for 'The Kashmir Files' on multiple occasions, Vivek has also taken several digs at the Anurag for one reason or the other. Couple days back, Vivek slammed Anurag for his statement that films like 'Kantara' are destroying the regional cinema and he has recieved a fitting reply in return.
Apparently, Vivek had tweeted a headline that read, "Films like Kantara and Pushpa are destroying the industry: Anurag Kashyap” and wrote, “I totally totally totally disagree with the views of Bollywood’s one & only Milord. Do you agree?” However, the article actually misquoted Anurag's statement which actually explained how regional filmmaker run try to copy the formula of a successful film and ruin their cinema in process.
In response, Anurag took a dig at 'The Kashmir Files' and asked Vivek to do proper research. He wrote, "Sir, it’s not your mistake. You research for your films in the same manner you tweet about my conversations. You and your media are exactly the same. No worries, next time please research a bit more seriously.”
