Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, who is currently busy raking praises for the success of his film 'The Kashmir Files', has landed into a legal trouble regarding his demeaning remarks towards people of Bhopal. According to a recent report in ETimes, a police complaint has been lodged against Vivek at Versova Police Station regarding his "Bhopali means homosexual" remark.
An individual named Rohit Pandey has alleged that Vivek has insulted people of Bhopal by "willingly, wantonly and maliciously calling Bhopalis as homosexuals" in a recent media interaction.
Apparently, a weeks old clip of Vivek Agnihotri went viral in which he can be seen stating, "I have grown up in Bhopal, but I am not a Bhopali. Because Bhopali has a different connotation. You can ask any Bhopali. I will explain it to you in private. If someone says he is Bhopali, it generally means he is homosexual, a person with Nawabi likings."
Vivek has faced severe backlash from netizens and some politicians regarding this statement.
