'Vivegam' shakes Chennai, Karnataka BO

Thala Ajith's 'Vivegam' ('Vivekam' in Telugu) has broken the all-time Chennai city record by grossing Rs. 1,20,78,497 on its first day. This is the highest Day 1 collection in Chennai city.
Previously, Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' held the record with Rs. 1.12 Cr, followed Thalapathy Vijay's 'Theri', which took Rs. 1.05 Cr.
In Karnataka, the film's record for a Tamil version is next only to that of 'Kabali'. Together with the Telugu version, it has got a share of Rs. 1.80 Cr in the MMCH, Bombay Karnataka and Durga territories. However, it has a long way to go before it can fetch profits. If it grosses Rs. 10 Cr in the State, the spy thriller would have achieved a break-even.
