Along with director Siva his good friend and cinematographer Vetri has also worked with Thala Ajith in three films, 'Veeram', 'Vedalam' and 'Vivegam' in less than four years.
While their third and costliest film 'Vivegam' is getting ready to hit the screens within a few weeks from now, IndiaGlitz had an exclusive interview with the young and energetic lensman.
When we asked him to define what to expect from 'Vivegam', Vetri said "We (Tamil people) generally watch international agent films from Hollywood or France. We enjoy their daredevil stunts, though we don't understand their language much and they are not connected to our soil. How will it be if the same stunts are performed by our very favourite Ajith sir? 'Vivegam' will be the answer for that. As much as the fan we are also eagerly awaiting the film's release."
Asked whether Ajith has appreciated his work the young cinematographer said "The most admirable trait of Ajith is that he will if he is impressed with someone's work in the shooting spot, he will appreciate them immediately. He is not an actor who looks at monitor. Only for few shots he will check the monitor. Mostly. But once he enters the shooting spot and finds the lighting and setting attractive he will immediately appreciate me. Likewise, he will also appreciate the art director if the set design is good. This applies to everyone in the set. In this film this occurred many times."
Can he recount a funny moment with Ajith in the shooting spoat? Pat comes Veri's reply: "Film shooting spot will not be like the ones we see in making videos. Everyone will be working very hard and no one will have time for any fun or light moments. We cannot waste a single minute since we will have the release target chasing us. As far as our shooting spot in concerned Ajith sir will be a motivation force for everyone in the shooting spot. Once he comes out of the caravan after getting ready for the shot in the morning he will sit in the spot until lunch. After finishing lunch he will not go anywhere until pack up. If he does not have shot, he will go and chat with lightmen, set assistants, crane persons etc. This will be a morale booster for everyone in the set. "
