Several troubles had surrounded the release of our film 'Viswaroopam' during the past one week. The film is directed and produced by himself and is the hero of the same. The film is supposed to hit the screens on January 11 in theatres and a day earlier through the DTH facility to the viewers who wanted to watch it at a special price. Now the date of release had to be announced a little later.

Speaking about this, Kamal told the media at his residence in Chennai, Viswaroopam is my property. I know how to trade my property. I will take a decision on my own. DTH facility is a new system. Earlier when the satellite rights issue had come up, several people had opposed it. But they are now inviting it and are selling their films at a fancy rate.

Likewise, DTH facility would also be complimented at a later date. I did not change my plan and did not postponed the release of the film due to anybody's pressure. I have taken the decision with the advice of some of my friends. We wanted to make it clear that the film had to be screened only in houses but not at restaurants and hotels which will become a crime and we will take criminal action against them. I will announce the date of release of our film very soon.
