The news on Padma Bhushan award hasn’t had any big effect on the Ulaganayagan Kamalhassan and the actor seems to be in a normal mood, even after achieving one of the greatest honors conferred by the Indian Government. This is evident in the way he has reacted to the news confirming the award for him. While he has expressed his thanks to everyone behind the process of making himself fit to this award, he has also underlined that he considers the award as the encouragement to work more.

When he met the press yesterday in his office at Alwarpet, he was quoted saying, “ I think Padma Bhushan honor is just to make sure that I should work hard and also it ncreaes my responsibility". The actor added " It gives me immense pleasure to join the list of recognized persons who have got the award before”

Its worth recounting that the star was in the same kind of cool and simple mood when he received brickbats in the form of protests and ban against the release of his film Viswaroopam that later proved to be the blockbuster hit of the year 2013.

Kamal also stated that he gains pleasure in dedicating the Padma Bhushan award to his parents and his gurus T.K.Shanmugam one of the pioneers of Tamil Theatre and Film Diector K.Balachander

When asked about the release date of Viswaroopam 2 the sequel to Viswaroopam and one of the most expected films of 2014, the actor said, “We have started post-production and VFX works,; we will announce the official release date soon”.

Viswaroopam 2 is being produced as a Magnum opus by Oscar Films V.Ravichandran while Kamal himself takes care of Scripting and Direction apart from playing the lead role. The star cast includes Pooja Kumar, Andrea, Rahul Bose carrying the same roles they essayed in Viswaroopam. Young composer Ghibran has replaced Sankar Ehsan Loy who worked for Viswaroopam. Cinematography of the sequel has been handed over to Shamdat Sainuddeen.
