Kamalhassan’s magnum opus Viswaroopam 2 was expected to hit the screens in January but the magnitude of the film is so high that the shooting itself has not yet been completed. There were talks doing rounds that the Padma Bhushan actor will bring his sequel to the 2013 blockbuster film as a Tamil New Year treat but the announcement on the release of Superstar Rajnikanth’s Kochadiiyaan has proved that V-2 will be pushed further since the distributors may not be preferring a clash of the two veteran actors cum leading stars of Tamil film industry.

Now sources say that Viswaroopam 2 will release either on May 2 or May 9 after a decent gap from the release of Kochadiiyaan.

Kamlahassan who is also the director of Viswaroopam 2 has assured that the film will be racier and the script provides more scope for romance and action, than its prequel. Pooja Kumar , Andrea Shekar Kapur and Rahul Bose who acted in Viswaroopam are retained in the sequel. Music has been scored by Ghibran and Shamdat Sainudeen is the cinematographer. The film is being produced by Ascar V.Ravichandran.
