One of the cult classic comedy, family entertainer movies Manal Kaiyiru` is being remade as Manal Kaiyiru 2` written and directed by Madhan Kumar of Yaaruda Mahesh` fame. Original cast members Visu, S.Ve. Sekhar and Kuriokose Ranga reprise their roles while Jayashree has replaced Shanthi Krishna as Sekhar`s wife. Poorna and Ashwin Sekhar are playing the lead pair with Delhi Ganesh, Nammo Narayanan, Jagan, Shaams and M.S. Bhaskar.

In the original Manal Kairyiru` the hero S.Ve. Sekhar will spell out 8 conditions a girl should possess to marry him and Visu`s character will trick him into marrying Shanthi Krishna`s character. In the modern version there is a gender reversal and it is Poorna`s heroine character who poses conditions on the groom played by Ashwin Sekhar and what happens next obviously leads to hilarious situations.
