Vishwaksen’s ‘#CULT’ First Single ‘He Is My Dosthi’ Released; Friendship Anthem Raises Buzz

Mass Ka Das Vishwaksen is all set to explore a completely new genre with his ambitious upcoming film #CULT, touted as India’s first authentic slasher thriller. Taking complete creative control, Vishwaksen has penned the story, screenplay, and is also directing the film, while Sandeep Kakarala is producing it under the Tarak Cinemas banner.

Inspired by chilling real-life incidents, #CULT promises to deliver a dark, gripping, and edge-of-the-seat cinematic experience unlike anything seen in mainstream Indian cinema. The recently released first glimpse generated tremendous curiosity by introducing audiences to the film’s eerie premise.

Keeping the excitement alive, the makers have now unveiled the film’s first single, ‘He Is My Dosthi’. Before the song begins, Vishwaksen explains the true essence of friendship—one where friends may not always stay together but can never imagine life without each other.

The vibrant track follows a group of close friends as they embark on their first trip to Goa, capturing their excitement while exploring the city’s nightlife, beaches, foreign tourists, and carefree atmosphere. While the visuals celebrate friendship and youthful energy, the song also subtly hints at the darker side of the story, with glimpses of the film’s crime backdrop. Vishwaksen’s negative-shaded character further adds intrigue to the narrative.

Composer Ravi Basrur delivers an energetic and catchy soundtrack, while Santhosh Venky’s lyrics beautifully capture the warmth and strength of friendship. Singer Karthik complements the composition with his lively vocals, making He Is My Dosthi an instant party anthem.

The film stars Gayatri Bharadwaj as the female lead, alongside Tarak Ponnappa, Murali Sharma, Srikanth Iyengar, Karthikeya, Anirudh Bhaskar, EZY, Yagnya Turlapati, Kabeer Bhartiya, Vishak Nair, and Chepuri Vivek in pivotal roles.

The technical crew includes Tharun Bhascker, who has penned the dialogues, Arvind Vishwanathan as the cinematographer, Ravi Teja Girijala as the editor, and Arvind Mule as the production designer.

Designed with a global audience in mind, #CULT is planned for a simultaneous release in Telugu, Hindi, English, Japanese, and Spanish, making it one of Vishwaksen’s most ambitious projects to date.

Produced by Sandeep Kakarala under the Tarak Cinemas banner, #CULT is shaping up to be a unique genre-defining thriller that aims to take Telugu cinema onto the international stage.
