Director R Ravikumar's debut venture, 'Indru Netru Naalai', starring Vishnu Vishal, Mia George and Karunakaran, created waves in the film industry. The critically and commercially successful movie became a trendsetter for the sci-fi genre in South Indian cinema.

The film's producer CV Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainment announced a sequel to 'Indru Netru Naalai' in 2019. A muhurat puja took place in 2021 after two years of script work by R Ravikumar. With Vishnu Vishal and Karunakaran reprising their roles, 'Indru Netru Naalai 2' was supposed to be directed by Ravikumar's assistant SP Karthi.

However, 'Indru Netru Naalai 2' hasn't commenced even after all these years. In a recent interview for 'Lal Salaam', Vishnu Vishal was asked about the film's status. He said, "Yes, we have announced part 2 but the project didn't proceed further. Whenever we are trying to take the next step, it gets missed every time. I don't know the current status of that movie."

The actor is said to have opted out of the movie due to the delay. We have to take it with a pinch of salt until there is an official word from the team. Vishnu Vishal also revealed in the interaction that his other pending film 'Jaga Jaala Killadi' is in production problem while 'Mohandas' is being re-edited for a theatrical release as it was originally made for a direct OTT premiere.
