Manchu Vishnu has said that he is ready to opt out of the MAA elections (he is running for the President's post) if elders such as Superstar Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and his father propose a candidate to be elected unanimously. The actor-producer added that he will contest for the post only if there is no unanimous election.
In his statement, the 'Dhee' actor promised that he and his family members are going to contribute every single penny needed for the construction of the long-delayed MAA building. "A building for the MAA has remained an unfulfilled agenda for the past 12 years. Seven years ago, when I was the Executive VP of MAA, I promised in the presence of ANR garu that I and my family will donate 25% of the funds needed for the construction. I am now saying we will give 100%. Let's not bother about the issue," Vishnu said.
He then moved on to raise his agenda. Vishnu said that a lot of artists who are not members of the MAA are acting in Telugu movies. He reminded that it's not allowed for people in the other crafts to do so. They have to first enroll themselves as members of their respective unions before getting work. Vishnu said that the same principle has to be applied to artists. Vishnu emphasized that new talents should be encouraged at the same time.
In his statement, the 'D&D' actor spoke of how his father has stood by the film industry, from time to time, whether or not he headed the MAA.
