Vishal's long in the making project, Samar has faced more roadblocks on its way to release. The film which was being pushed for a Pongal release has now been pushed back to January 25th for the Republic day weekend. The distributors apparently couldn't find enough screens during the Pongal season for the film to make good impact.

Samar has Vishal, Trisha and Sunaina playing the lead roles. The project was initially touted to release on the 28th of December after seeing an audio launch on the 21st, but was later pushed back after facing problems. But now it appears the road is clear and we can finally see it on screen on the 25th of January. Directed by Thiru, it is expected to be an action entertainer which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
