Vishal is the new President of Producers Council

Actor Vishal has recreated history by emerging victorious as the new President of the Tamil Film Producers Council. In the elections conducted today. it has been officially announced that Vishal has won the election for the top post of the President by polling more votes than the other contestants Keyaar and Radhakrishnan.

Vishal's battle against Producer Council started when he started giving interviews criticizing the inaction of the Film producers body on rampant piracy of Tamil films and various other issues plaguing the industry.

The actor producer was removed from the Council for his allegedly offensive comments in an interview to a Tamil weekly. Vishal took this to the Madras High Court and also expressed regret for his comments. Still the Council's office bearers refused to revoke his removal. The Court had to intervene again to reinstate him in the Council and also clear the deck for his candidature in the Producers Council Election. On the same day Vishal filed nomination for the President post of the Council

The Council again tried to cancel his nomination to no avail. Today Vishal has scripted another history by winning the elections to become the next President of the Producers Council.

It is worth recalling the similar story of Nadigar Sangam. Vishal spearheaded a team against the past office bearers of the Actors body and played a vital role in conducting the election for the Nadigar Sangam after more than a decade. Vishal and his Pandavar Ani nominated candidates for all the post and the entire team emerged victorious in the election conducted in October 2015. Vishal has since become the General Secretary of Nadigar Sangam.

The results for the remaining posts of the Producers Council are still emerging.
