Vishal turns emotional on his directorial debut Thupparivalan 2

Leading Tamil actor Vishal has announced his directorial debut with his next big film, Thupparivaalan 2. In a video shared on social media, the Mark Antony star revealed his excitement about diving into filmmaking, a dream he has harbored for 25 years. Vishal is set to travel to London, Azerbaijan, and Malta for the recce of the sequel to Thupparivaalan (2017). While awaiting the release of Rathnam, directed by blockbuster filmmaker Hari, Vishal expressed gratitude to acclaimed director Mysskin and affirmed his commitment to Thupparivaalan 2, ensuring that he will not abandon the film but will see it through to its destination.

In a social media post, Vishal wrote, And my journey begins finally after 25 years. My dream, my aspiration, my first thought of what I wanna be in life has come true. Yes, I take charge of a new responsibility, the most challenging in my career, that of a debutante director. Here we go finally. Off to London, Azerbaijan, and Malta for the recce of my first directorial debut #Thupparivaalan2 & #Detective2. No words to explain but just remembering what my #Dad Mr. G.K. Reddy and #ActionKingArjun sir said. #HardWorkNeverFails. No matter what comes by, pursue your dreams persistently and consistently, and one day it will come true. Thupparivaalan 2 was initially announced with 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraaja composing the songs and background score, with Vishal and Prasanna reprising their roles as Kaniyan Poongundran and Manohar, respectively. Mysskin was also attached to the film as the director but later opted out of the project.
