Vishal - The Leader who leads from the front
- IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,August 29 2015]
When Vishal first appeared on screen in Chellamae' back in 2004, people did not show much interest towards him and dismissed him as another producer's son and the film is remembered more for Reema Sen's oomph and Bharath's performance as an adolescent psycho than Vishal's presence in it. Later on, with films like Sandakozhi', Thimiru', Malaikottai' and Thamarabarani' he established himself as an action hero and found his footing in the industry. In his seventh year in the industry, Vishal made heads turn with his riveting performance in Bala's Avan Ivan' undoubtedly one of the best in the history of Tamil Cinema. Vishal made steady progress after that and began producing his own successful films Pandiya Naadu', Naan Sigappu Manithan', Poojai', Aambala' and Paaayum Puli' which is ready for release this Septemeber 4th. Vishal's passion towards his craft was well evidenced when he tried his best to get his film Madha Gaja Raja' released after the producer Gemini Film Circuit got into a financial mess. The effort was unsuccessful and cost Vishal sleepless nights, which resulted in him being hospitalized, but the action hero brushed it aside stating that a film of his is like his baby and he will do everything possible for it to see the light of the day. Not many heroes have cared so much for their films produced by others.
Vishal has a close knit circle of friends in the industry like Arya, Jayam Ravi, Jiiva, Vikranth, Vishnu, Ramana, Bharath, Karthi, Mirchi Siva and others who have all rallied around him for many years the bonding growing stronger after Vishal took over the captaincy of the Celebrity Cricket League. His colleagues in the industry have long seen him as a leader because of his straightforwardness.
Vishal has never shied away from voicing his honest opinion of the causes he believes in. When Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam' was embroiled in controversies and could not release in Tamil Nadu Vishal was one of the first actors to voice his support to Kamal and he even criticized the film fraternity for not uniting behind the senior actor for which he was issued a show cause notice by the office bearers. In 2013, when he was shooting for his movie Poojai' he initiated the arrest of a person selling new movies VCDs (not only his film but in general interest).
Vishal took the cause of the Nadigar Sangam issue in which he strongly believes that the building should be built by the members and not leased out to a third party. He does not only say it, but also has alternative plans like producing a multi starrer with every young hero of repute and also contributions from them. Even though it has been long rumored that Vishal is seeing Nadigar Sangam chief Sarath Kumar's daughter Varu that has not deterred him from going against him for the good of others. It is this quality of consistency and honesty that has attracted seniors like Nassar, Ponvannan and others to accept his leadership. It is even rumored that the big guns Rajini and Kamal back him.
As a public speaker Vishal has a no-nonsense precise and clear approach which is a big plus and even on a reputed television talk show an anchor who is known to unsettle even senior politicians could not do the same to him. Vishal with his general philanthropic activities has grabbed the general public eye too. Only after he initiated help to Paravai Muniyamma others followed suit and he is now regularly helping out the needy in his own way.
Vishal definitely has the potential to become not only a leader concerned with the industry, but also in public with his clear vision and action. On the eve of his birthday on the 29th of August, we at Indiaglitz wish him a great birthday and many more glorious years of good health and success to follow.
