The Tamil Nadu Film Producer Council headed by Vishal and the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) headed by R.K. Selvamani had a standoff a few weeks earlier due to the Technician Union disrupting the shooting of R.K. Suresh's 'Billa Pandi' in Madurai. The FEFSI after announcing a strike for a few days later relented and have temporarily suspended the problematic union from the federation.

Meanwhile the Stunt Men Union comprising fight masters and fighters of both movies and television is celebrating their 50th year anniversary on the 26th of August and to honor them the TFPC have announced that there will be no shooting activities this Saturday.
