Happy News! Kollywood Strike comes to an end

The Tamil Nadu government intervention in the month and a half Kollywood strike has produced a positive breakthrough and has been called off. The tripartiate meeting between TFPC, theater owners and the digital service providers was held today at the secretariat. Kadambur Raju, minister for information and broadcasting and the minister of commerce, K.C. Veeramani mediated.
In the meeting it was decided to bring all online bookings under one platform managed by the TFPC from June 1st. Ticket pricing will be flexible depending on the budget of the film which will attract more audience for small films.The DSPs have agreed to reduce their full run VPF charges from Rs.22000/- to Rs. 10,000/- and E Cinema has reduced theirs from Rs. 9000/- to Rs. 5000/-.
The Producer Council is meeting again today (18/4/2018) to discuss and come to a decision on how to release the films that are lined up including 'Kaala'. Vishal has clarified that a minimum of three films will be accomodated per Friday and a smoothe functioning of the entire industry will commence from this week.
