Actor Prakashraj is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Bangalore central constituency, and actor Vishal, who has starred alongside him in movies like Thoranai, Theeraatha Vilaiyaatu Pillai etc has extended his support to the actor in the elections.

After demonetization and the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, Prakashraj had been extremely critical of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP, and constantly tweeted against the party, and participated in debates against BJP. Following all this, he jumped into politics, and contests this election as an independent candidate.

In such a situation, actor Vishal has extended his support to Prakashraj in a recent video, where he said, "In today's political scenario, it's tough to contest elections as an independent candidate and win, as it requires guts and the feeling of serving the nation.
