The Supreme Court's verdict on the Cauvery tribunal judgement has reduced the water allocation to Tamil Nadu by 14.75 DMC which has come as a shock for the people of the state as no appeal can be made for the next fifteen years as well.  Many Kollywood celebrities have expressed their views on the issue with Kamal and Rajini sharing their disappointment.

Vishal who is the third Kollywood bigwig after Rajini and Kamal in the political bandwagon has issued a statement "The Cauvery verdict is a disappointment for all of Tamil Nadu. The reduced allocation will be detrimental to our agriculture already reeling under water shortage. With no scope of appeal, the state government should atleast ensure the formation of the Cauvery Management Board and make sure Karnataka follows the ruling and release the allocated amount of water."
