In a tragic news, producer Ashok Kumar ended his life unable to cope up with the pressure from a financier who charged exorbitant interest rates. The incident has come as a shocker for the film fraternity and the public as well.
Pertaining to this, the President of Tamil Film Producers Council has come up with a direct warning to financiers who extort money with high interest rates and engage in usury. Stating that producers must reach out if they are facing any threats from financiers Vishal also stressed the need to put an end to financiers who resolve issues through kangaroo courts (kattapanjayathu).
“It’s time for you all to run since it will be the last death and it wil be an example to bring out all atrocities that’s been happening in the Tamil film industry,” Vishal said. He also stressed the need for the police to curb these issues with stringent measures.Terming himself as ‘another affected producer’, Vishal called on all the producers to stand united to annihilate the problem.
