The entire South Indian Film fraternity and people are shocked by the outrageous kidnap and sexual assault on actress Bhavana who is a popular film star in
Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil film industries.
Yesterday, the Malayalam film industry conducted a peaceful rally in solidarity with Bhavana and also against the rising sexual crimes, in which top league stars such as Mammootty and Dileep participated.
Now the Tamil counterparts have also started responding to the heinous crime against the actress.
Actor and Nadigar Sangam General Secretary Vishal revealed the steps taken by Nadigar Sangam in this issue:
"We all know what happened to actress Bhavana in Kerala. I salute and praise Bhavana's courage for publicly speaking about this rather than shying away. Such a crime should not have happened. If an actress is subjected to this treatment think about the safety of common women.
On behalf of Nadigar Sangam, yesterday we have sent a letter to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. In the letter We have requested the CM to nab all the culprits and give them the most severe punishment so that others would have the fear to not involve in such acts. We will send a similar letter today with the signature of our President Nasser.
We have also contacted AMMA, the artists association of Malayalam actors and offered our full support in dealing with this issue.
We assure that we stand with Bhavana and we will see to it that justice is rendered to her. "
Vishal also spoke about another dastardly act of criminals which has taken away the life of a three year old girl in Ennore, Chennai.
" We heard that a three year old girl has been raped by five persons and killed. We need to implement stringent laws to punish to stop sexual crimes, especially the crimes against children, which is on the rise in recent times. The most heinous crimes are the ones against children. We have decided to spread the awareness about this."
