The past week saw the first time in the 100 year history of Indian cinema when movie theaters shutdown for four consecutive days due to the double taxation by the government of Tamil Nadu.

It has been decided that a six member committee from the government and the same number from the film fraternity will discuss and come to a conclusion on the Local Body Entertainment Tax issue. Though it is still unknown who the government has chosen it reported that from the fraternity it is going to be the TNFPC President, Vishal,Secretary Kathiresan, Treasurer S.R. Prabhu, The Tamil Film Chamber of Commerce President Abhirami Ramanathan and leading distributors Tirupur Subramanian and Arulpathi.
