In the tax evasion case against him, after the issue of an arrest warrant actor Vishal has appeared before the Egmore high court today. Vishal has been accused of failing to remit the money deducted from the salary of several persons and diverting for other purposes.

Vishal owns Vishal Film factory which has produced movies like Pandiyanadu, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Aambala, Sandakozhi 2 and has also distributed several movies. Reportedly, the actor had not paid the tax deducted from the salaries of his staff for the last 5 years, and the income tax department filed a case against him.

Despite summon from the court the actor did not turn up for the hearing on August 2, and his advocate sought an exemption from appearing, which was denied, and an arrest warrant was issued. Following this Vishal had appeared in the court for the hearing in Egmore high court.
