Actor Ilavararasan who has appeared in popular Tamil film like 'Siruthai', 'Saguni' and 'Onayum Aatukuttiyum' has recently attempted to end his life by consuming a rat killer. This has spread shock waves across the Kollywood film industry.

29 year old Ilavarasan is married to Sasikala and has a son named Siva. He is presently being treated in the Government hospital where he was admitted by his neighbour who stopped him from suicide attempt.

Ilavarasan before trying to end his life has sent a letter to actor and Nadigar Sangam General Secretary Vishal. In that letter he has reportedly stated that he has been cheated by certain film producers who did not pay him the agreed salary after getting work from him and he could not run his family without money. He has also stated that due to this his wife has separated from him and she has also sent a divorce notice. Ilavarasan says these events have forced him to take the extreme step.

In the letter Ilavarasan has also requested Vishal to take immediate steps to help junior artists like him to lead a decent life. Apart from that the Nadigar Sanga has assured to take immediate steps to resolve the problems of junior artists as requested by Ilavarasan.

Knowing the sad state of affairs of Ilavarasan, Vishal who has been helping various people according to their needs has immediately sent his fan club member to the hospital to hand over the financial aid of Rs.10,000/- through his Devi Trust.
