Vishal has announced that the Tamil Nadu government has given Rupees 7 Lakhs each to producers who have made small but meaningful films from 2007 to 2014.  The payment was made on 20.6.2018 and Vishal has thanked the Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhaniswamy, Deputy CM O. Panneer Selvam and Information and Broadcasting Minister Kadambur Raju.

The grant has remained unpaid for the past eleven years and trade analysts see this as one more victory for Vishal as new President of the Producers Council who has maintained a good relationship with the government and has brought cheer to the small producers.

Meanwhile Vishal after the success of 'Irumbu Thirai' is currenlty starring in 'Sandakozhi 2' directed by Linguswamy in which Keerthy Suresh and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar are his costars.
