Actor Vishal has been extending a helping hand to many destitute and poverty stricken members of the Kollywood film fraternity and has been doing his best to ensure a reasonable livelihood for them through his own trust and also the Nadigar Sangam for which he is the General Secretary.

Recently Vishal learnt about the pathetic condition of lyricist Kalidas who has written hundreds of Tamils songs in the past. He has mainly collobarated with 'Thenisai Thendral' Deva and has penned the famous 'Thalai Magane Kalangathey' song in Superstar Rajinkanth's 1997 super hit flick 'Arunachalam'.

Kalidas has been physically unwell for the past two years and he has been suffering from poor living conditions. Learning about this Vishal has immediately donated Rs.25,000 for the medical expenses of the veteran lyricist. Vishal's Welfare Association Secretary has handed over the funds to Kalidas's wife.
