Many actors have spoken about the Cauvery water issue in the comforts of their lounges or a hunger strike in their home state. However Vishal has spoken as a Tamilian and for the Kauvery water issue right in the Lion's den in Bengaluru.

Vishal in his capacity as the Producer Council Chief and Nadigar Sangam secretary was invited as one of the chief guests for the audio launch of a new Kannanda movie 'Raghuveera' along with superstar Shiv Rajkumar. The latter however could not make it and Vishal too was late for the function due to traffic jam.

Vishal started his speech in Tamil stating "Udal mannukku Uyir Tamzhikku" (The body for the soil and the soul for Tamil). He then said that he is proud to speak in his mother tongue Tamil and nobody can stop him. He further emphasized that he will ask for the Cauvery water as it is the rights of the Tamil people. He said that since all are Indians it is the duty of the Kannada people to protect the Tamils in the state and vice versa in Tamil Nadu. He assured Kannada producers that the Tamil Nadu Producer Council will do everything to help out any of them who would like to film in the state.

Now isnt that a reason to laud Vishal for courageously standing up for Tamil and its people that no other actor of the state has ever dared to in the past.
