Vishal Bharadwaj recently met Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's grandson Chandra Kumar Bose, who told him about the Indian National Army (INA) being rather instrumental in the freedom struggle of India.

The Indian National Army was set up by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the year 1943 to take India towards independence from the British rule.

Chandra Kumar Bose provided the filmmaker with several insights and also presented him with a book on Netaji called, "The Bose Brothers and Indian Independence: An Insider's Account." The book gives an in-depth knowledge about the rough political scenario and freedom struggle at the time.

He also requested Bhardwaj to make a movie on the life of Netaji right from the beginning of the struggle, so that the country can know about the real sacrifices made by him & the soldiers of the INA.

Another member of Netaji's family presented the filmmaker with the INA Trial document which further elaborates on the works of Netaji. Vishal Bhardwaj was deeply moved by this gesture and was touched by the immense contribution of the Indian National Army (INA) towards the freedom of India.
