Actor Vishal, who is the President of the Tamil Film Producers' Council, was today arrested from the association's building in T Nagar in Chennai. He has been accused of embezzlement of funds by several producers.

Earlier today, Vishal entered the premises to break open the locks of the council office, which had been locked by his rivals in the union. There was also a huge argument between the action hero and the cops at the premises.

For the past few days, the rival members have been alleging criminal charges against Vishal and his team and have also mentioned that close to Rs 8 Cr has not been accounted for.

Vishal has explained that his detractors have ulterior motives to stop the planned Ilayaraja program to raise funds for the council. He has also stated that the accounts will be submitted during the General Body Meeting.

Vishal has told a media house that he has respect for police. Some unauthorized people had locked the council office, he added.
