An urgent meeting of the Tamil Film Fraternity was held this evening and it has been decided to continue the strike into the month of April after the entire month of March saw all activities of cinema coming to a halt step by step.  Vishal represented Producer Council, Karthi the Nadigar Sangam, Vikraman the Directors Union, P.C.Sriram the cinematagrapher association and R.K. Selvamani the head of FEFSI.  The distributors association have given their consent to abide by the decisions.

Vishal speaking to newsmen has stated that the ongoing Kollywood strike should not be called that but a revamp of the industry.  It is not only to challenge the VPF charges that digital service providers demand but to make it reasonable for people to go to theaters and enjoy the films without paying any extra charges like online booking, parking etc.

Vishal has made it clear that the strike will not come to an end till all the requests of the Producer Council is met with. All the organisations of the fraternity will go on a procession to Fort St. George and meet the Chief Minister and I & B Minister Kadambur Raju on 4th of April and request him to intervene and find a resolution.   

Other issues discussed was try to get heroes to accept a part payment and share the rest of the money after collections.  The requests to government is to bring flexible ticket prices to enable people of all economic classes to see a film instead of charging a flat rate. To abolish online booking charges. To set up a Tamil Nadu Film Development Corporation to regulate the industry. Abolition of double taxation of LBGT on top of GST.
