The GST and LBET has caused a lot of confusion for the theater owners and especially dented the wallets of the moviegoer. But the tax imposition and the theater strike has also resulted in close ties being formed between the government and the film fraternity which should do a lot of good in the future. Suddenly there are a lot of great things happening for the film industry like the payment of pending subsidy and the announcement of the State Film Awards for 6 years from 2009 -2014.

Today the 14th of July, the office bearers of all film organizations visited the Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhaniswamy at the secretariat to thank him for the announcement of the film awards by presenting a flower bouquet. Vishal, Lalithakumari, Kutti Padmini, Sangitha, Iysari Ganesh, the Tamil Film Chamber head L Suresh and many others were present .
