On February 7th, Tamil actor Vishal released a statement clarifying that he has no plans to enter politics at the moment. This comes after recent reports on social media suggested that he was planning to form a political party.

Vishal stated that he has been actively involved in social work through his fan club, helping individuals in need, and intends to continue doing so. He hinted at the possibility of entering politics in the future, but emphasized that it's not an immediate consideration.

The actor's clarification came shortly after news of his potential political debut went viral, following similar announcements by other prominent Tamil celebrities, including Thalapathy Vijay.In his statement, Vishal acknowledged the support he has received from the people of Tamil Nadu, both as an actor and a social worker. He expressed his commitment to serving the community through his fan club, which he emphasized is not merely an average club but a platform for helping people in need.

Vishal highlighted the club's efforts in providing assistance to those in need, such as supporting poor and needy students through the 'Devi Foundation,' named after his mother, and aiding farmers affected by various challenges.He also discussed his plan to expand his welfare activities, with the aim of creating a people's welfare movement that would operate at the district, constituency, and branch levels.

Vishal stressed that he engages with people during his travels for film shoots, listening to their concerns and grievances and fulfilling their needs through his welfare movement. He emphasized that he does not seek political gains from his social work. However, he did leave the door open for future political involvement, stating, "If nature demands, then I will not hesitate to speak for the people in future."

In 2017, Vishal attempted to enter politics by contesting in the RK Nagar by poll election. However, his nomination was rejected due to insufficient valid proposers.Currently, Vishal is focused on his acting career, with his upcoming film 'Rathnam' in production.

Dear All, Greetings.

I am forever indebted to the people of Tamil Nadu who gave me the status, recognition and adulation as an actor, a social worker and most importantly reminding me that I’m one among you in the society for so many years.

Aiming to help with what I can, from the very beginning I didn’t treat my fans association as a normal fans club but as a forum to do good to the people, so we implemented it as a charitable welfare movement with the aim of “Doing our best for those who don't have".

As the next step, we created “Makkal Nala Iyakkam” for the progress of the people and to work district-wise, zone-wise and branch-wise for the welfare of the people. Also, through the 'Devi Foundation' which I’ve founded in my mother’s name, we are helping many skillful yet needy students every year in the name of our late former president Sir A.P.J Abdul Kalam to pursue their education. In addition to this, we have been helping the farmers across every district in Tamilnadu.

Apart from that, whichever village, town or city I visit for my movie shoot, I have been regularly meeting people from that locality and listen to their issues and grievances. Taking stock of it, I try to fulfill their basic needs through my fellow comrades of “Makkal Nala Iyakkam”.

All these years, I have never done the welfare works for the needy people expecting any political gain and I will continue to do my best to help them as quoted by the great Valluvar, “It’s never good to let the thought of good things done thee pass away". Mentally I consider this as my duty.

I will continue to do my social work to the people of my state through my “Makkal Nala Iyakkam”. If the future ahead brings about any change in destiny to make me reach out and work for the needy, I will not hesitate to speak or work for the people as one among them.
