Months after the shoot of the mystical thriller 'Virupaksha' was rolled out in April 2021, Sai Dharam Tej met with a near-fatal road accident. He was hospitalized for weeks and was in a stressful state of mind for months thereafter. Even so, when the shoot of 'Virupaksha' was recommenced and he had to do a risky bike scene, the 'Republic' actor decided to do it without a body double.
There is this scene in the April 21st release where the hero must ride a bike at 100 kmph on a narrow road abutting a lake. It's a risky task for anybody. Sai Tej didn't have second thoughts and he let courage rule over fear even though the real-life bike accident was weighing him down psychologically.
In a special video glimpse titled 'COURAGE OVER FEAR', the film's debutant director Karthik Dandu and cinematographer Shamdut are heard talking about how tough a shot it was and how amazing the 'Prati Roju Pandage' actor was. "The entire cast and crew was surprised at the determination, willpower and ease with which he executed the sequence overcoming his fear," the makers said.
The film is produced by Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings. Its screenplay is written by Sukumar.
