'Virgin Story' locks release date; Makers explain 'Virgin'

Vikram Sahidev, who was recently seen in 'Rowdy Boys', is the son of producer Lagadapati Sridhar. The 'Naa Peru Surya' actor is fronting the rom-com 'Virgin Story', which has locked its release date.
The youthful film will hit the screens on February 18.
The word 'Virgin' in the title has been perceived in a conventional sense. The makers have an insightful explanation to give. 'Virgin' has a wide-ranging meaning. The word is not just related to sexual virginity and it also means freshness, purity and unexplored space. In that sense, we are are virgins in many ways. If you are driving a car for the first time, you are a virgin driver. The thought of driving a car for the first time stresses you out, as you tend to over-think. 'What if you get into an accident... What if you hit someone. Such questions hobble your mind, the makers say.
'Virgin Story' is a film that reflects the thinking of today's teens and youngsters in an entertaining way. Teenage is when you learn and explore new things. Teens are curious, with their adrenaline rushing and their hormones raging. They tend to be extra-sentimental and also indulge in over-thinking, the makers say.
The way society deals with teen rebellion has undergone a shift. There was a time when society would try its best to suppress and punish teen rebellions. But now it has learned to be more understanding, compassionate, and kind towards inquisitive teen minds. There is an attempt to understand them instead of demeaning them, the makers add.
What makes this film a must-watch for teens and youngsters is that 'Virgin Story' says that important things take time to unfold. Be it career, passion, or love, everything has to be pursued at its own pace.
