Cricketing champ Virat Kohli's narrow-minded comment that those who like non-Indian cricketers would do well to leave the country has attracted all-round criticism.

Famous commentator Harsha Bhogle says that Kohli's remarks are a reflection of the bubble that most famous people either slip into or are forced into. "The voices within this bubble are frequently those that they wish to hear. It is a comfortable bubble and that is why famous people must try hard to prevent it from forming. That is also why contrary opinions are frowned upon. Power and fame tend to attract those people who agree with you and reinforce your opinion because they benefit from proximity to fame and power," Bhogle ponders analytically.

Actor Siddharth hits out at Kohli posing a hypothetical situation. "If you want to remain King Kohli, it may be time to teach yourself to think 'What would Dravid say?' before speaking in future. What an idiotic set of words to come from an India captain!" the actor tweeted out.

One @Asim_Moulik says, "Virat Kohli, Sachin is a great fan of Sir Don. Should he also leave India as per your advice?" Columnist Rifat Jawaid observes if Kohli is dumb not to understand ramifications of his words, he is probably unfit to lead India.

A parody account of Kohli exposes Kohli's double standards. "I am discontinuing my brand endorsement contract with non-Indian brands with immediate effect. I will now endorse only Indian brands, hope the Indian fans, too, will like and endorse Indian cricketers over English and Australian cricketers from now on."
