Indian Test captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday talked about the alleged rift between him and newly appointed white-ball captain Rohit Sharma while speaking to the media during a virtual press conference.
Virat Kohli clarified that things are fine between him and Rohit Sharma and that he has been saying this over and over again for the past two years. The skipper mentioned this ahead of the national team’s departure to South Africa for the three-match Test series. He also said that he would offer his hundred percent support to white-ball captain Rohit Sharma and team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid. “There is no problem between me and Rohit Sharma. I have been clarifying for the past two years and I am tired now. I want to also say one thing that none of my actions or decisions will be to take the team down,” Kohli reportedly stated.
In a video uploaded on the official website of the BCCI, Rohit Sharma had spoken about the legacy Virat Kohli left behind. “He has put the team in a situation where there is no looking back. Those five years that he led the team, he led from the front every time we stepped on to the park. There was clear grit and determination to win every game. That was the message to the entire squad. We had a great time playing under him. I have played a lot of cricket with him and enjoyed each and every moment and I will still continue to do that,” he had said.
