Recently, when a passenger triggered the emergency brake of the Chamarajanagar-Tirupati Express by mischievously pulling the chain, senior guard N Vishnumoorthy did the unthinkable. He risked his life by walking on the railings of the girder bridge to restore the system.
The brave employee did it in 10 minutes flat without batting an eyelid over the risk involved. Someone shot his act on a smartphone. The video clip of Vishnumoorthy's heroic deed has gone viral on social media.
The passenger who first created the trouble was later handed over to Railway Protection Force by the employee.
The South Western Railways has awarded him Rs 5,000 for his bravery.
