Narendra Modi on Monday morning took the coronavirus vaccine. From today (March 1), those aged above 60 have access to the vaccine in both government and private labs/centres.
Taking to Twitter, Modi wrote, "Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19." It was a nurse by the name of Niveda who administered the vaccine jab to the PM. Soon after the pic of him taking the vaccine was put out on Modi's official handle, it went viral.
The Prime Minister also appealed to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine to take it without fail.
The Director of AIIMS has been quoted as saying that Modi was given the Made-in-India Bharat Biotech vaccine. "There should be no doubts in anyone's mind before taking the vaccine now that the PM himself has received it," he said.
