After the release of a Tamil movie a couple of years ago, the fans of a superstar broke down laptops given for free by the state government. It was their way of protesting against the freebie culture. Guess how someone thought the fuel price hike has to be protested? By throwing a bike, no less, into the Hussain Sagar. The incident happened in Hyderabad on Friday.
A video clip of a handful of Congress party workers dumping a well-functioning bike into the Hussain Sagar is going viral. It seems they had informed a YouTube channel about their incredible protest, preparing the ground for their short-lived fame.
With the video going viral on the Internet, several Netizens are mocking the activists. A Twitter user plugged the famous comedy scene from 'Nuvve Nuvve', in which comedian Sunil lets a traffic cop take away his friend Ravi's bike because he has nothing to lose.
Protests can take bizarre forms. From burning the effigy of Chief Ministers/Prime Ministers to tonsuring of heads in the middle of the road, mobs have done them all for decades. But throwing a precious asset into the river in a time of unprecedented economic slowdown takes the cake.
Bizarre. So, this is how #Telangana #Congress youth workers/activists thought they should protest against the rising fuel prices- by throwing a bike into Hussain Sagar in #Hyderabad- a water body in the heart of the city. #Congress #PetrolDieselPriceHike pic.twitter.com/9mhRfz8mK1
