It’s known that Priyamani will be seen as a naxalite in ‘Viraata Parvam’. Director Venu Udugula has cast her as Comrade Bharathakka, who belongs to a brigade of which Sai Pallavi’s character is a part. The actress shares screen space with Rana Daggubati, who plays a cop, in the movie.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Priyamani reveals that it was not easy to shoot for the socio-political period drama holding a real rifle. Even when the director did a look test with the actress, he made her hold a real gun to check whether she suits the part.
“It’s the first time that I have done this in my career. It was heavy and was not easy to carry it while doing action sequences. There are several firsts for me with respect to ‘Viraata Parvam’. Venu Udugula knows what he wants,” she suggests in the interview.
Also featuring Nandita Das, the film’s release date is yet to be announced.
