The burning issue of Cauvery Management Board has taken an ugly turn with the anti-IPL protests in Chennai turning mildly violent. Even as hundreds yesterday took to roads to protest the cricket league, an outfit has actually threatened to use snakes to scare away the players.
Rajinikanth is disheartened by the atmosphere. He has called out an attack on the security personnel in Chennai. "The worst form of violence in law and order situation is attacking uniformed personnel on duty. This form of violence has to be tackled immediately as it poses a grave danger to our country. We need more stringent laws to punish the perpetrators of the attack on police personnel on duty," he tweeted out on Wednesday.
Senior film critic Sreedhar Pillai said, "Finally Rajinikanth comes out of the shell. For the first time, he openly tweeted something against Seeman and his Naam Tamilar Katchi. His veiled Tweet - "Yes, I agree. This barbaric act must be stopped and strict action should be taken against whoever induce violence"."
