1252 cases filed against persons violating lockdown!

Following the announcement of the nationwide lockdown by PM Narendra Modi, people are allowed to venture out of houses only to buy essentials and cops have been taking strong action against those violating the lockdown.

While videos of cops pleading to public to get back home and contrasting videos of cops attacking bikers went on viral, it has been revealed that Tamil Nadu police have booked 1,252 cases so far against people who violated lockdown.

The City Police Commissioners / District SPs have issued prohibitory orders under section 144 which doesn't allow the presence of more than five persons in public places. Besides the violation cases, 16 persons were booked for circulating fake news via social media and six were booked for violating home quarantine.
