Tamil actor Vinayakan, who has also appeared in several Malayalam movies, was arrested in June and then released on bail after a model/activist accused him of verbally abusing her on the phone.
A chargesheet has now been filed against the actor by the Kalpetta police as they have found electronic evidence and call detail record, which reportedly involves Vinayakan talking to the model/activist Mridula Devi in an obscene manner and verbally abusing her mother as well. A case was registered under IPC section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 294 (B) (uttering obscene words) besides section 120 (O) (causing nuisance to any person by repeated or undesirable or anonymous calls) of the Kerala Police Act in June and Vinayakan was arrested but was soon let off on bail.
Vinayakan has appeared in Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram, Dhanush’s Maryan, Simbu’s Silambattam, and Vishal’s Thimiru.
